After the rehabilitation work commissioned by the administration of Seine-Saint-Denis territory on the industrial wasteland Lefaux at Quatre-Chemins Pantin, Banlieues Bleues settled in the premises in early 2006 to develop their activities all year long. The Banlieue Bleue Company enjoys the privilege of well-equipped rehearsal studios, broadcasting rooms; a sustainable tool located in a suitable place that gives the opportunity to musicians to work, rehearse, conceive ideas, implement projects; and also to present concerts, artistic creations and musical activities...
This place, without making the activities of Banlieues Bleues permanent, plays a leading role in the field of Jazz music. Its aim is to spread and promote all cultural activity in relation to jazz music in the territory of Seine Saint Denis as well as on a regional, national and European level. This new field of activity also contributes to the restructuration of networks, co-production projects, and a sharing experience for artists, professionals and… the public too!
Every spring since its creation in 1984, Banlieues Bleues festival has presented concerts, creations and actions reflecting the vitality of jazz and new music in several cities in Seine-Saint-Denis (17 in 2009), revealing the diversity and richness of current music vibes. Portrayals and tributes to the greatest players alternate with the discovery of new talented contemporary artists.
