Gare de l’Est and Gare du nord stations are both within walking distance of each other. These two major stations of the Parisian metro network with important transport connections are located in the heart of the 10th arrondissement of Paris , not lacking in attraction and charm.

Point of departure to venture into the North East region of paris, of France and of Europe, this multicultural district takes you further beyond – …to India – on foot ! This area is not simply a transit passage, it is also a popular place with many bars and restaurants, some of them are located in small passages, housing projects and courtyards.

The area around Gares du Nord and Gare de l'Est stations gives acess to many famous Parisian sites. It is located close to Montmartre, Canal Saint-Martin and Grands Boulevards.

Gare du Nord is the largest European railway station in the number of passengers and the second largest station in reception capacity in the world. Several types of railway networks services are proposed at Gare du nord : high speed trains (TGV) to destinations in the North of France and Europe (Eurostar, Thalys), national train lines, regional network (Transilien and RER), and the Parisian transport network : metro, bus, taxi et vélib'.

Gare de l'Est is located 5 minutes walking from Gare du Nord. The railway network Paris Est connects to the East of France and international with Eastern Europe, Central Europe and Switzerland. It benefits from the francilien network with Transilien trains, and urban Paris trains.

These two Parisian stations are listed as historic monuments. Guided visits of these stations are proposed to discover their history, architecture and the area around them.

Between Gare du Nord and La Chapelle, you can find "Little India" the indian quarter of Paris. Restaurants, saris’ shops, Indian groceries boutique will take you on a journey to India. Canal Saint-Martin is located a few minutes on foot from Gares du Nord and Gare de L'Est station. The banks of the canal offer pleasant promenades, cafés and boutiques. The canal, the locks and swing bridges can be discovered during a cruise tour or during a walking promenade. The mythical Hôtel du Nord and banks of Canal St-Martin were shooting locations which can be visited during the guided tour on movie locations near Gare du Nord and the canal.
