René Jacobs and Akademie für alte Musik Berlin propose listening to the St Matthew Passion - second masterpiece by Bach. It is the story of the last meal, the arrest, judgement, and condemnation to death and crucifixion of Jesus, the Christ played in the form of a tragedy, an oratorio!

The St Matthew Passion (Passion of our Lord Jesus-Christ according to the Evangelist Mathieu), is an oratorio by Jean-Sébastien Bach. The Passion, a prodigious music score in two parts, lasts about 2 hours and 45 minutes.
