Tours for persons with disabilities

The basilica of Saint-Denis offers a rich and varied programme for persons with disabilities: tactile tours, tours for persons with a mental disability and tours in sign language. Almost all parts of the Basilica are accessible to wheelchair users, with the exception of the chevet. Tours provided for persons with various disabilities are as follows:

Hearing disability

Guided lecture tours in sign language for groups by prior reservation (jean-paul.perbost@monuments-nationaux.fr or 01 44 54 19 33). Audioguide with induction loop (please specify at reception desk). New: videoguide in French sign language with subtitles.

Mental disability

Workshop tours for groups by prior reservation (01 48 13 14 73), special simplified unguided tours.

Visual handicap

Tactile station in the Basilica. Tour guide in large print (available at reception). Workshop tours for groups by arrangement (01 48 13 14 73) or specially adapted tactile guided tours by arrangement (01 48 09 83 54). New: audioguide for unsighted accompanied persons or those with visual handicap.

Motor disability

Groups of 4 or more wheelchair users: no prior reservation needed. However, reservation is recommended if assistance is required during the tour 01 48 09 83 54).

Prices

Free for persons with disability and those accompanying them. Guided tour included in the ticket.
Workshop tours (tactile and mental) 45 ¤ per group
Guided tour in French sign language: 35¤ per group or 4¤ per person
Audioguide 4¤ per person, 6¤ for two persons
The Basilica has been awarded the Tourisme et Handicap label in respect of its provision for persons with hearing and mental impairment.
