Mon nom est personne

Alexandre Périgot exposes a serie of works composed of 717 anonymous works: canvases, photographs, drawings, patterns, design and handmade objects from the 16th century to the 21st century at CNEAI, in the exhibition hall at Magasins Généraux.

The works are settled on the floor, as the stalls of street peddlers. The artist put the question of anonymity and celebrity in art in the heart of his work. This idea came to him when he learned that museums are overflowing with anonymous works that they object to expose.

The exhibition refers to My name is Nobody (Torino Valerii), Dead Man (Jim Jarmush) and Odyssey (Homer).

Opening on Saturday, February 17th from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Guided visit thanks to the artist and exhibit commissioner. Screening of My name is Nobody movie and interpretation of anonymous songs with Pierre Brébant (harpsichord from 18th century), Alma Périgot (harp) and Xavier Boussiron (electric guitar and percussions).

Launching of the artist book Mon nom est personne on Saturday, March 10th at CNEAI and convention with Alexandre Périgot.
