On the occasion of the Autumn Festival, the CND and Galerie Thaddaeus Ropac join together to propose a retrospective of the American choreographer, Lucinda Childs.

Nothing Personal gathers together unissued archives, graphic productions by Lucinda Childs (choreographic scores, drawings, plans) and documents produced by artistes with whom she worked, such as Sol LeWitt, Babette Mangolte, Robert Mapplethorpe or Robert Wilson. This exhibition aims to showcase the formal invention of dance choreography which, according to the choreographer "is Nothing Personal".
Part of the exhibition is held at Centre National de la Danse where the documents relate the retrospective work of Lucinda Childs from the Judson Dance Theater in the 1960s, to the alternatives spaces in New-York and to theater with its optical devices combining dance and images in the 1980s. The other part of the exhibition is held at Thaddaeus Ropac Gallery. It shows the graphic works by Lucinda Childs and Sol LeWitt. The two artists worked together on their creation called Dance in 1979, the masterpiece by the choreographer set to music by Philip Glass. The public will be able to see the realization and erasure of a wall drawing that will mirror a pattern of the circular arc in choreographic notations and the Wall Drawing #357 by Sol LeWitt.
Nothing personal will be held from 24th September to 17th December 2016 a the CND (except from 10th October to 17th October) and from 24th September 2016 to 7th January 2017 from Tuesday to Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Thaddaeus Ropac Pantin Gallery.
