The ICI (Institut des Cultures d'Islam), a cultural establishment of the City of Paris, is a multi-disciplinary art center offering exhibitions, concerts, shows, lectures, films, language and calligraphy courses, as well as workshops and storytelling for young audiences.
Through the eyes of artists whose work questions representations and narratives linked to Islamic cultures in all their diversity, in France and internationally, the ICI invites reflection and exchange. Exhibitions, creative residencies, mediation activities and artistic and cultural education initiatives are developed by the ICI team in collaboration with guest artists and curators.
The programming of the Institut des Cultures d'Islam is spread over two buildings, both places of art, dialogue and sharing, located in the Goutte d'Or district, in the 18th arrondissement of Paris.
The rue Léon site houses ICI's main exhibitions on two levels, and offers visitors a patio with an open-air stage and a restaurant run by the La Table Ouverte solidarity association. It is open from Wednesday to Sunday, from 12pm to 7pm.
The rue Stephenson building features an exhibition hall showcasing the work of emerging artists, a space dedicated to small-scale live performances, screenings and conferences, and classrooms and workshops. A prayer room belonging to the Grande Mosquée de Paris has been installed on the second floor, in a configuration that respects the 1905 law. The ICI Stephenson opens its doors to you for courses and events.
