When you visit Paris it is very pleasant to stay around the Bassin de la Villette. This dynamic north-east Parisian working class neighbourhood is bursting with inexpensive, small and snug bars. You can walk along the Canal de l'Ourcq from your hotel to the Parc de la Villette where the Philharmonie of Paris and the Museum of science and industry are located. You can also walk along the canal Saint-Martin. As soon as the summer weather is upon us, Parisians can enjoy a picnic on the banks or play "petanque" (boules).
St Christofer’s Paris Hostel is located along the Bassin de la Villette close to Crimee lift bridge. You also can stay in the Peace and love Hostel on the other end of the Bassin, close to Jaures metro station. Check our list of Paris youth hostels.
The Bassin de la Villette is not far from two main train stations in Paris, Gare de l’Est and Gare du Nord near where lots of hotels are located. Three metro lines serve the Bassin de la Villette : you can find many accommodation options along line 2, line 5 and line 7.
