The first church built in Drancy as part of the Cardinal Verdier's construction projects which aimed to Christianize the "red suburbs" was built in the Économie neighborhood on Rue Georges-Marie. Its architect remains unknown. The building was inaugurated on January 25, 1931, and established as a parish church on June 4, 1933.
Built to take advantage of the new possibilities offered by concrete, which allowed for large spans, the building consists of a vaulted nave with five bays, opening onto a pentagonal choir decorated with blind arches. The semicircular arches separating the nave from the side aisles are adorned with floral and geometric decorations. The porch features a doorway without a tympanum.
The church was restored by ?Les Chantiers du Cardinal,? a nonprofit organization dedicated to the construction and renovation of churches.
