Derlon is a Brazilian artist painter who is interested in the authentic popular art of his country. His work is based on the tradition of "cordel", these wood engravings illustrating the stories of centennial regional literature and above all of social unity.
The artist presents simple figures (birds, flowers, snakes, boats, etc.) painted with large black impressions on a white background. His style, simple, urban and authentic, is immediately recognizable. His artwork is visible in the streets of large Brazilian cities such as São Paulo, Recife, Rio de Janeiro and Aracaju.
