The Theater Paris Villette is located in the former cattle livestock market slaughterhouses of la Villette. The building had been designed to house an auction under its arcades. This was where bargaining took place for the thousands of calves, cows, sheep, pork and poultries, which, every day, arrived from all over France. The contracts were signed verbally. Business was done with just a simple "high-five!" and that was it.
Today, a challenging design creation, attentive to teams and new forms, the venue is open to companies where artists work and meet, the Théâtre Paris-Villette aims to boost and unite artistic energies such as the public, and targets all: families, adults, youngsters, adolescents.
The theatre Paris Villette promotes contemporary creation and favours the relationship between artists and the public with special attention given to the local community.
