Le Samovar is both a training school and a theater dedicated to "clowns, burlesques and eccentric". Begun in 1990, it moved to a former garage in the town of Bagnolet, where Franck Dinet and his team fully rehabilitated the venue to welcome their audience and many companies that wish to partake in the adventure.
Along with the dense annual programme Le Samovar also organizes two major events : Festival of Clowns, Burlesques and Eccentrics, aiming to spotlight emerging new clown talents. Organized with the town of Bagnolet, the expression of clownish creation takes place as part of the festival "Under the chapito!" at the Samovar and under a circus tent. The Encounters of Samovar give artists the occasion to show their latest creations to the public be it theater dance or music. The 6 companies selected on audition present a musical excerpt or a short version of their next show.
The training option offers many courses to a broad spectrum of professionals: clowns, lyrical theater, gestures, puppets, circus skills, singing... The public is not forgotten as many workshops or training sessions are offered to youngsters and adults all year round.
