Fort d'Aubervilliers is a former fortification of Paris, built in 1843 to control traffic on the Route de Flandre. It was one of a series of military works designed by Thiers in 1840 to protect the capital.

Fort d'Aubervilliers has benefited from a development project aimed at transforming an urban wasteland into a mixed-use, city-oriented district, while respecting the site's historical, cultural and natural assets. Pending completion of the Fort d'Aubervilliers development to accommodate its residents (delivery of the first housing units scheduled for 2024), the fort is home to various cultural players and a venue for events, Le Point Fort.

The fort is currently occupied by various facilities located outside the ramparts: the Zingaro equestrian theater, a bus station, Métafort, the allotment gardens of the Société des Jardins ouvriers des Vertus, green spaces and a gendarmerie.

In the casemates and on the ramparts of Fort d'Aubervilliers, you'll find craftsmen's and artists' workshops and small entrepreneurs like Fort Récup.

Fort Récup, exhibitions, artist residencies and numerous other events such as Villes des Musiques du Monde 's L'été au Fort also make the Fort d'Aubervilliers a lively place.
