The Drancy Shoah Memorial is preparing an exhibition dedicated to the history of the Jews of the northeastern Paris suburbs from 1890 to 1960. It will run from November 18, 2026, to June 30, 2027.
The exhibition , *History of the Jews of the Northeastern Paris Suburbs: Between Integration and Persecution (1859–1960)*, aims to offer a unique insight into little-known stories. It aims to highlight the role these families played in the social, economic, cultural, and political development of the Parisian suburbs, while tracing their journey through the major turning points of the 20th century: waves of migration, the Industrial Revolution, the Holocaust, postwar reconstruction, and the arrival of Jews from North Africa.
Through archives, photographs, artifacts, personal accounts, and everyday documents, the exhibition aims to convey the diversity and depth of these experiences, from the earliest settlements in the suburbs through the post-1945 reconstruction period.
A call for donations has been organized to enrich the exhibition "Jewish Lives in the Northeast Paris Suburbs." You may submit documents from your family archives and entrust them to the Shoah Memorial for the duration of the exhibition, or donate them. If your family lived in the northeastern suburbs of Paris before 1960, you can help enrich both the collection presented during the exhibition and the Memorial's permanent collection.
