The Plaine Stade de France viaduct station in Saint-Denis was created in 1998 as part of the construction of the Stade de France for the Football World Cup. French architect and engineer Jean-Marie Duthilleul was entrusted with the project, one of whose aims was to create a pleasant and pleasant environment for fans travelling to the stadium.one of the challenges was to create a feeling of being "already in the game" as soon as you step off the train, at a height of 8 metres. The lower overhang (4 meters) allows for a less monumental treatment of the station and a smoother transition with the city of Saint-Denis and the Plaine St Denis district.
The Plaine Stade de France station is emblematic of the major structuring projects of the Île-de-France region at the end of the 20th century. Like the nearby Épinay Villetaneuse station, it has been designated a heritage site of regional interest.
