Since 2002, Nuit Blanche proposes visits and artistic events taking place throughout the night on the first weekend of June, from Saturday night to Sunday morning. Initiated by the city of Paris, Nuit Blanche progressively expanded to other major towns in France, in Europe and all over the Paris region.
This artistic and cultural event gives free access to places and institutions that are not usually open to the public and that are not normally used for artistic purposes. The city invites artists and collectives to appropriate these premises. Nuit Blanche highlights a lasting cultural heritage by opening the museums and institutions at night but also a temporary one with artists groups and collectives and contemporary artists’ installations and performances. Each year, an original program is brought to you in Paris and in the Seine-Saint-Denis department.
