The summer exhibition Simulacres at Magasins Généraux opens from June 26 to September 27, 2026.
The group show features works by artists who blur the boundaries between reality and appearances. From traditional crafts to the most advanced technologies, the Simulacres exhibition reveals the strategies of mimicry, illusion and simulation that mark the recent history of artistic creation. Through hyperrealism, perceptual games, digital simulacra and images generated by artificial intelligence, it questions our ability to disentangle the true from the false.
Between fascination, vertigo and critical spirit, Simulacres deciphers the shifts in perception at a time when images are becoming increasingly indistinguishable, and when fakery and illusion are no longer the exception, but a norm to be apprehended and thwarted.
