The Shoah Memorial in Drancy proposes an exceptional exhibition around the drawings of Georges Horan-Koiransky. His illustrations are true graphical testimonies of the internment in the camp of Drancy at the time of the Jewish deportation.
The illustrations by Georges Horan-Koiransky come from a collection entitled Le camp de Drancy, seuil de l'enfer juif published in 1947. Georges Horan-Koiransky met René Blum during his internment at Drancy. The latter noticed his drawing skills and asked him to draw how they live in the camp.
Recently, Georges Horan-Koiransky’s family allowed us to learn more about this man and his work thanks to archives, private and administrative documents. His original publication on internment was published in October 2017 under the heading “Journal d'un interné, Drancy 1942-1943” and his collection reissued.
