The must-attend children's book fair: the SLPJ at Montreuil 2025.
The Salon du livre et de la presse de jeunesse will hold its 41st edition from November 26 to December 1st, 2025. The theme is empathy, under the title "the art of the other".

The event will feature over 400 exhibitors and the leading French and international authors of children's literature on 4 stages (literary, comics, voice and decoding), a major exhibition and an early childhood area. The show also takes place throughout France, with 500 SLPJ partners, bookshops, libraries, schools and social centers.
As in previous years, illustration workshops, author meetings, book signings, readings, animated film screenings, guided tours, literary itineraries and a large outdoor exhibition are on offer to individuals, school groups and leisure centers. New: the Montreuil Book Fair TV channel!
The SJPJ has created its own TV channel, available live and replay, on DTT and Internet boxes! On the program: literary programs, drawing lessons, children's literature events, publishing news flashes, animated exhibitions... and a videoconferencing system to maintain school meetings and professional exchanges.

The 500 bookshops, libraries and cultural centers partnering the Montreuil Fair will be showcasing the "Pépites", the Fair's literary prizes, and reproductions of the Fair's exhibition...) to enable readers, who used to buy their books at the Salon stands, to find their favorite authors and albums and make literary discoveries.
Each year, a major exhibition featuring the works of French and European illustrators is organized around the year's theme. The exhibition is set up in four interactive areas of the show. You'll be able to see monumental illustrations from children's books.
The authors invited to the show will meet their young audiences in a variety of ways.

A large stage is dedicated to Nuggets and literary news, featuring artists and books selected and awarded by the show.
4 stages: literary, comic, decoding and vocal, offering a variety of large-scale events with musical readings, author interviews, graphic design challenges, drawing lessons, readings and more.
Six new Pépites du Salon will crown the works of authors, illustrators and creators in 4 categories: illustrated books, junior fiction, comics and teen fiction. A Pépite d'Or will also be awarded to the children's book of the year.
Students can take part in masterclasses and debates with professionals and creators. Monday is dedicated to professionals in the children's publishing sector, with conferences on its evolution.
Admission to the Salon du livre de Montreuil is free for all. All visitors, including children, must have a ticket to enter the Salon.
The Salon is accessible to people with disabilities. Comfort features include a dedicated entrance, loan of sensory kits, magnetic loops, readings in sign language, audiodescription, selections of adapted books and a list of specialized publishers to facilitate the visit.
For a bite to eat, you'll find La Mezzanine offering take-away food (beware of long waits at certain times of the day due to the crowds) and a restaurant on the 2nd floor.
