Thaddaeus Ropac Gallery presents an exhibition dedicated to the American artist James Rosenquist. This monographic retrospective features over 40 years of creative work by Rosenquist divided into two parts : 33 artworks which include huge scale paintings in the art-gallery Pantin (93) and collages in the venue space Marais (Paris 3).
This artist is a major name in the pop-art universe beside Warhol or even Roy Lichtenstein. A product of the advertising world, he depicts rampant consumerism in the roaring thirties. This exhibition highlights the particular technique of painting developed by James Rosenquist from a distorted collage. Several collections will be presented including one devoted to space and pays tribute to Picasso.
Opening cocktail, 11th September in Pantin from 2pm to 6pm.
