The Philharmonie is dedicating an exhibition in 2025 to Disco, a style far richer than it seems. Disco music was born in the United States in the early 1970s and took the world by storm. The exhibition looks at the influence of black history and culture on Disco, the important role of dance in the movement, and its evolution into a pop culture that continues to influence creators, artists and designers to this day.
The Disco exhibition is divided into three parts:
Using audiovisual archives, photographs, costumes and instruments, the exhibition highlights the political and festive aspects of this music that unites all social classes and minorities. A soundtrack mixed by Dimitri from Paris accompanies the Disco exhibition.
