La trêve is an art installation by Sophie Comtet-Kouyaté which was presented in the Basilique Saint-Denis as part of the Cultural Olympiad. Following the success of the exhibition, La Trêve was installed at the Plaine Commune Tourist Office in Saint-Ouen.
The installation combines photography and fabrics, with a series of portraits, photographic frescoes and monumental costumes inspired by the Olympic Games of ancient Greece. Architectural and liturgical elements echo the basilica.
The characters, who represent emblematic figures of Greek social life at the time of the first Olympian Games, are embodied by forty residents of Saint-Denis and Aubervilliers and eight Olympic and Paralympic athletes.
The exhibition is open from Friday to Monday, 9.30am to 6pm.
