Nowhere and everywhere at the same time & Test pattern

Date From to

The Grande Halle de La Villette holds two installations by William Forsythe and Ryoji Ikeda: Nowhere and Everywhere at the Same Sime & Test Pattern. The vicinity of the two works reveals their black and white contrast.

Nowhere and Everywhere at the Same Time is part of Choreographic Objects project by the choreographer William Forsythe. This exhibition deals with object choreographies and not human ones. The choreographer explores the multiple possibilities that an art of movement can offer. William Forsythe proposes to the audience an experience with objects amplifying and deforming the visitor’s movements through hundreds of pendulums.

Ryoji Ikeda is a musician and a visual artist. He created Test Pattern, an audio-visual installation converting data (such as texts, pictures, sounds or videos) into bar codes or binary patterns. Test Pattern disrupts the visitors’ perception in this Hertzian context permanently changing.

This installation, collaborating with the Gagosian Gallery offering an exhibition about William Forsythe’s work until December 2017, is located in the Almine Rech Gallery.
