Information on the Lockwood Festival website for the year 2019 and contrary to the dates announced
>There will be no festival in 2019<
Initiated by Serge Malik and Didier Lockwood, the Festival Jazz Musette des Puces is a free festival that takes place at the heart of the Paris Saint-Ouen Flea markets, in bars and markets partners of this project but also in the streets and on the big stage in Paris.
Created in 2005, it reconnects with the musical culture of the flea markets and its mythical cafés that welcome gypsies, singers and musicians. It is THE place to be for enthusiasts and jazz musicians !
It is the weekend of festivities that allows the public to discover jazz music, gypsy jazz, jazz musette and swing. Many resident orchestras, well-known artists and young talents will perform on the streets and cafés of the Paris/Saint-Ouen Flea markets and the big stage will welcome the great names in music.
Pub crawl : In the history of the Flea markets, it first begin with musicians and street artists who performed from one bar to the next with a "hat" around the tables. Today, it is done with the association of top billings, residents and the public. The legendary bistrots make this "Festival Jazz Musette des Puces" an extraordinary moment. However, careful to preserve the historical spontaneity of the bar trail, the planning and timing of "passage bars" are not always made known to the public. The surprise of seeing artists playing among the visitors will be, this year again, an unforgettable and pleasure-shared experience.
Restaurants, bars and markets will be open in the middle of the afternoon with musicians in residence and a fanfare band, followed by the pub crawl and finishing up with the Big Concert and ball.
From Friday evening to Monday from 3pm come and listen to artists in the different markets such as Biron, Malassis, Dauphine, les Rosiers at the corner of the street or in the Flea market restaurants, La Péricole, Piccolo, P'tit Landais, La Chope, le Biron not forgetting Ma Cocotte !
Let yourself drift along to the rhythm of the music, glide through the market alleyways and enjoy the temporary exhibitions.
