Oil, watercolor, acrylic, ink, gouache, etc. between paintings and drawings (but also sculpture) and in a farandole of colors you will find your happiness in this traveling exhibition which is held every two years at the Air Museum.
The artists' universe makes you discover forgotten aircrafts, engines, propellers, unusual parts. It also takes you into space and then back down to Earth to discover works that offer the spectators a glimpse of our aviation today through paintings made on airports and air bases.
The magic exists as it did on the first day and the painters of the air will continue to underline for a long time to come, with their colors and their lines, this sublime idea that man had one day to fly.
In 1931, the "body of painters, engravers and sculptors of the Air Department" was created. Two titular artists are appointed.
2023 : 13th edition of this temporary exhibition - rendez-vous in the Salon des 8 Colonnes and Salon Dollfus.
