The Cité des Sciences et de l'Industrie hosts many exhibitions. Alongside the Cancers exhibition, the one on industrial evolution and another on Metamorphoses, discover the exhibition dedicated to crowds. From October 18, 2022 to January 7, 2024, visitors to the Cité des Sciences are invited to understand the phenomena of crowds thanks to this exhibition that explores many fields: from physical science to behavioral science.
The exhibition is marked by the notion of density, which is inseparable from the notion of crowd. Compact crowds, pedestrian crowds or even digital crowds, with the advent of social networks, all angles of view approached in the exhibition.
By placing the viewer sometimes in the crowd, sometimes outside, Foules proposes an immersion in the theme to better understand it. Part of the exhibition is also devoted to reversing the negative image associated with the idea of crowds. The viewer can thus better understand the mechanisms that agitate human groups.
Numerous mediation devices surround the exhibition: an exhibition journal, but also a card game and even an online escape game to play from 11 years old. A mediation also allows to understand how the methods of organization of a vote can influence the results.
