Vampire Weekend hits Paris Adidas Arena Porte de la Chapelle for their Only God Was Above Us Tour!

Vampire Weekend is an American indie rock band from New York. It was formed in 2006 by Ezra Koenig, Chris Tomson, Chris Baio and Rostam Batmanglij, all four Columbia University alumni. The band quickly gained popularity for their unique sound, blending elements of African music, pop, rock and classical music.

Their self-titled debut album, released in 2008, received critical acclaim and was certified gold. Their second album, "Contra", released in 2010, was also a success, reaching number one on the Billboard 200 chart. Their third album, "Modern Vampires of the City", released in 2013, won the Grammy Award for Best Alternative Music Album.

In 2016, Rostam Batmanglij left the band to focus on his solo career, but Vampire Weekend continued with Ezra Koenig as frontman. Their fourth album, "Father of the Bride", was released in 2019 to great critical acclaim. Vampire Weekend are known for their energetic live performances and intelligent, often ironic lyrics. Their songs often tackle themes such as youth, love, politics and popular culture.

After a 5-year absence, the New York-based band is back in April 2024 with a new album, "Only God Was Above Us".
