The Zidane, a portrait of the 21st century exhibition runs at the Philharmonie de Paris from October 5, 2023 to January 7, 2024. In 2005, the film Zidane, a portrait of the 21st century was made by artists Philippe Parreno and Douglas Gordon during the Real Madrid - Villarreal CF match. The film was shot in real time, with 17 cameras set up in Madrid's Santiago Bernabéu stadium and focused on Zizou.
The filmmakers' objective was to focus on Zinédine Zidane's body, capturing his concentrated gaze and the extreme precision of his shot. This approach differs considerably from the usual television footage. 17 giant screens will be suspended in the exhibition space of the Philharmonie de Paris to broadcast the Zidane film, combined for the occasion with original music by rock band Mogwai.
